Who we are
PrepLocal runs websites, online ordering, marketing and rewards for independent restaurants and meal-prep kitchens. When you order from, sign up with or join the rewards of a kitchen on PrepLocal, the kitchen is the business you're dealing with; PrepLocal keeps your details on the kitchen's behalf.

What we keep
- Your account, if you make one: name, email, phone and password (stored scrambled, never readable).
- Your orders, and a delivery address when you give one.
- What a kitchen keeps about its customers: name, email, phone, a birthday if you add it, visits, rewards points and offers you claim.
- Push notification subscriptions, if you turn them on.
- "My diet" preferences, only if you set them (diet and allergy choices).
- Questions typed to Chef, the assistant. A customer's health details are taken out.
- Website visit counts per day. We don't keep visitors' IP addresses for them.
Chef and AI
Chef answers most questions itself, with its own rules. When PrepLocal turns on Chef's AI features, some things are sent to Anthropic (its Claude models) to help answer:
- Questions from kitchens and PrepLocal staff, with what Chef needs to answer them from what that login can already see, such as the kitchen's menu, orders and sales. Before anything is sent, Chef takes out customers' names, email addresses and phone numbers. Customers' own questions to Chef are not sent.
- For kitchens, menu photos, and the kitchen's own public website words for Spanish translation.
Anthropic may keep what is sent for up to 30 days.
Questions typed to Chef help us improve Chef for every kitchen. A kitchen's own names, such as its dishes and staff, stay with that kitchen.
Who helps us run PrepLocal
- Stripe - card payments.
- SendGrid - email.
- DigitalOcean - our servers.
- Cloudflare - our network and kitchens' own web addresses.
- Better Stack - uptime monitoring.
- Anthropic - Chef's AI features, when they're on.
- Meta and Google - only when a kitchen connects its own Facebook, Instagram or Google Business Profile.
We don't sell your information.
Cookies and your browser
PrepLocal uses cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser's storage for preferences such as the day or night look. No advertising cookies.
Delete your data
- Kitchens: in the console, Marketing > Social posts > Connected accounts > Disconnect deletes PrepLocal's copy of that account's access at once. To close your PrepLocal account and delete its data, email support@eatpreplocal.com.
- Customers: email support@eatpreplocal.com from the address you use with the kitchen, and we'll delete your account and details. Records a kitchen must keep for its taxes stay, with your name taken off.
- Unsubscribe links in every marketing email stop that kitchen's emails straight away.
Children
PrepLocal accounts are for adults.
Changes
When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with its version number.
